The CompuSnack Project represents a completely new concept for managing network and IT infrastructure requirements. In short CompuSnack is Network & System Administration Studio supporting multiple 'bitesize' tools for multiple host types and platforms.
Traditionally there are two solution types in this market, the single freeware/shareware solution or the complex and expensive proprietary integrated applications.
The freeware/shareware market represents the richest resource for finding tools to manage networks but having half a dozen tools to manage various resources is complex and time consuming. Time spent managing these tools is time not spent managing the network. Integrated solutions are often expensive and only compatible with the hardware of the manufacturer. This requires multiple tools to maintain hardware from multiple manufacturers.
The aim of the CompuSnack is to offer all these separate tools from a single common interface with a single common address book. The common address book allows the user to store connection details for all modules, allowing the appropriate module to be launched directly from the address book.
It is also the objective to provide tools which are compatible with all hardware devices for simplified management of network resources.
CompuSnack will include tools such as Remote Desktop, Remote Shell, Session movie recording, scripting, telnet, file transfer and more..
